The Centre for Technology in the Arts at Carnegie Mellon University has just released the results of its Ticketing Software Satisfaction Survey, summarizing survey responses from over 950 arts and cultural organizations across North America.  The report answers such questions as
  • Which attributes do arts organizations consider critical in a ticketing tool?
  • What factors influence organizations’ ticketing software choices?
  • Which tools are arts and cultural organizations using?
  • How satisfied are arts and cultural organizations with their current ticketing solutions?
  • How do desired attributes and levels of satisfaction change based upon the budget size of the organization?

On Tuesday, May 11 from 2-3:30 p.m. Eastern, the Centre for Technology and the Arts at Carnegie Mellon University presents a webinar entitled Market Smarter With Google and Facebook.  During the session, presenter Erik Gensler will cover

  • How arts organizations can optimize Google Analytics to understand how users are interacting with your site and which user behaviors are tied to sales. We will discuss basic reporting and set up as well as custom set up and ecommerce tracking.
  • How to use Google AdWords to increase traffic to your site. You will discover how your orgnization can obtain up to $10,000 in free AdWords advertising per month. You will also learn about the Google Content Network where your organization can place banner ads on thousands of sites across the web from one central hub.
  • How to target Facebook users that are interested in the programming your organization offers. You will obtain tips for crafting ads and micro-targeting users to make your Facebook advertising efficient and cost-effective.

Cultural Careers Council Ontario has announced the launch of a career self-management course entitled The Business of Art, a course designed to provide creative workers with the business skills to plan for success and take control of their careers.  This intensive program helps creative workers from any field transfer their artistic planning skills to career and business.  The program begins on April 12, it’s being presented in Toronto, and it costs $299.00 plus $14.95 GST. Registration includes 6 workshops, one group coaching session, a manual/workbook, review of business plans and a final presentation.  To register, visit here.

The Center for Arts Management and Technology at Carnegie Mellon University is presenting a webinar entitled The Arts & Social Media, Part II: Turning Strategy Into Results, on March 23 from 2:00pm – 3:30pm Eastern.  The cost is $25 USD.  Here’s how they’re describing the session, led by Rebecca Krause-Hardie of Audienceworks:
