INVENTORY OF ORCHESTRA MUSIC LIBRARIES (IOML)
Welcome to the IOML – an inventory of music found in the libraries of many of our members. If you are interested in renting a work listed in the IOML, please contact the owning orchestra directly using the contact information found in “Participating Orchestras”. Rental rates and agreements are determined by each individual orchestra.
If you would like to contribute to the IOML, send your library listings to info[at]oc[dot]ca. In order to speed up the formatting process and allow your listings to be included as quickly as possible, please read Important Information about the IOML.
CBC MUSIC LIBRARY
In 1992, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) donated the music libraries from its radio orchestras to Orchestras Canada. In the spring of 2002, OC had to give up the collection because an office move no longer allowed us the storage space to continue to house the collection. Orchestras Canada members who used the collection most were contacted and offered the chance to acquire the collection, given that they had the physical space and resources to do so.Now the Kraus Orchestral Music Library, librarian John Kraus is the administrator for the former CBC Library.
