The National Ballet of Canada, Canada’s premier dance company and one of the world’s top international dance companies, is seeking an experienced pianist to join the company in a full-time role. Reporting to the Music Director, the successful candidate will accompany class and company rehearsals for a maximum of 30 hours per week.
General Responsibilities Include:
> Play company and apprentice class
> Play company and apprentice rehearsals in preparation for performances
> Accompany community outreach activities
> Highly accomplished technical and musical ability
> Experience as a class/rehearsal pianist on the professional or community level or in
an academic or training environment
> Working knowledge of ballet vocabulary & repertoire and a strong familiarity with the
rehearsal process in the studio
> Strong interpersonal skills
Compensation and Benefits
The National Ballet of Canada offers full-time music staff a competitive compensation and benefits package including supplemental health insurance, pension and paid vacation. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
