Renowned for exciting programming, excellence in performance, an enduring commitment to educational programming, and a loyal audience, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra has just completed its 95th season. Musical delight and discovery drew close to 300,000 people to its concerts last year. Under the leadership of its respected interim CEO, the Orchestra is implementing a long-term sustainability plan. The TSO and its audience are well- positioned to grow and flourish in concert with the remarkable growth of the city for which the Orchestra is named. Joining the Orchestra for its 2018/ 2019 season, the next CEO will partner closely with a new Music Director, lead the TSO as its chief business officer, and continue to deliver a plan that ensures artistic excellence, while increasing financial strength and community engagement.
With a relevant degree and experience at an executive level in a symphony orchestra, you have unassailable business acumen and a sterling track record of financial and reputational enhancement. A relationship-builder and fundraiser, you are outgoing and inquisitive, assured and effective in all company, and a compelling ambassador to new and diverse markets. You will build productive and cohesive internal and external working relationships that advance the reputation, fiscal stability, labour relations, attendance, and community support for the exciting artistry and educational outreach of the TSO.

Full-time position requiring educational credentials such as undergraduate or advanced degree in arts management, business, music, or a related field.
Qualifications/accountabilities: experience sufficient to lead a professional orchestra of over 90 musicians and more than 60 staff. Responsibilities include reporting to the Board as the chief business officer, providing strategic, team, budget, and fundraising leadership and management.
