The Department of Music at Mount Allison University invites applications for a position in Applied Brass. This is a full-time nine-month sessional appointment, beginning August 1, 2018, subject to budgetary approval. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in Brass Performance or Pedagogy, an established record as a performer, and successful studio teaching experience at the university level. Teaching responsibilities include weekly studio instruction in brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba) of up to 15 students for approximately one hour each, brass chamber music, overseeing student performance preparation, and assessing performance juries associated with these students. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to undertake departmental service, including outreach, recruitment, and committee work.
