Ms. Neumann has been active for over 20 years in the labour relations field in Alberta. As Director of Human Resources for the Calgary General Hospital, she was responsible for labour relations for a staff of approximately 2800, all but 300 of whom were unionized. Working with five unions, she participated in developing the strategic direction of labour relations at both the local and provincial level. In this role she managed all day-to-day labour relations activities including contract interpretation; grievance and arbitration management; labour relations training and coaching for management; and collective bargaining.
In her work through Windowpane Management, Ms. Neumann continues to have an active Labour Relations practice as an integral component of the range of services her company offers. She routinely acts as chief spokesperson at the bargaining table for management. In this role, she has negotiated several first agreements and many renewal agreement. She also provides on-going day to day advice and counsel on all labour relations matters both strategic and tactical in nature; and serves as management nominee on arbitration boards.
