US Tour for Montreal’s Orchestre de chambre Appassionata

Appassionata, led by its artistic director Daniel Myssyk, makes its US debut later this month, with a pair of concerts in Richmond, Virginia. The 19-member orchestra will appear on the series of the Mary Anne Rennolds Chamber Concerts, and the program will feature guest soloist Richard Raymond in music by Hindemith and Chopin, the Scherzo pour cordes by Quebec composer André Prévost and Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings. During its time in Virginia, Appassionata will as well join forces with students from the Virginia Commonwealth University to perform a full orchestral program, and give master classes for the VCU students. Daniel Myssyk, Appassionata’s artistic director, is also an assistant professor and director of orchestral activities at VCU.
