National Youth Orchestra Auditions 2011

Earlier this week, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada began its national audition tour, during which almost 500 young Canadian musicians will compete for the opportunity to take part in this summer’s training and performance program. From Charlottetown PE to Victoria BC (and with a special stop in Bloomington IN), proctors from the NYOC will oversee 32 audition dates on the tour, with a particular highlight being the Toronto-based auditions for the first-ever $15,000 Canada Council Michael Measures Prize for the highest ranked concertmaster candidate.
