Open House and CD Launch for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada

The National Youth Orchestra is holding an open house and CD/DVD launch on Thursday, November 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. at their offices at 59 Adelaide Street East, Suite 500, Toronto.  In 2009, the NYOC made history as the first youth orchestra in Canada to broadcast a concert live via the internet. This concert – conducted by Maestro Alain Trudel – was recorded on DVD and is now available, along with their 2009 CD. Repertoire on the discs includes Gustav Mahler‘s Symphony No. 6, Rob Teehan‘s Dreams of Flying, Stravinsky‘s Rite of Spring, Bernstein‘s West Side Story: Symphonic Dances, and Samy Moussa‘s Cyclus.  For more information about the NYOC, you can visit their website here.
