The Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra starts a busy 2009-10 season with performances August 28 (in Halifax) and August 29 (in Lunenburg). The concerts are the culmination of a ten-day end-of-summer intensive training session, and will be led by NSYO music director Dinuk Wijeratne. The program includes Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto (with soloist Jennifer Jones, a member of Symphony Nova Scotia and the Blue Engine String Quartet), Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2.
