The Toronto Philharmonia, orchestra-in-residence at the George Weston Recital Hall, Toronto Centre for the Arts, has announced its 2009-2010 season. Featured repertoire (selected by music director Kerry Stratton) includes the Canadian premiere of Arvo Pärt’s Fourth Symphony, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, and the Toronto debut of the young Swiss pianist Teo Gheorghiu, who starred in the film Vitus . Vancouver’s Pacific Baroque Orchestra has announced its 2009-10 season, its first under the leadership of Artistic Director Alex Weimann and new concertmaster Chloe Meyers. The orchestra’s Vancouver season consists of four subscription concerts – each performed in two different venues – as well as a special concert as part of Early Music Vancouver’s Sonata Project. The Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, resident orchestra at the P.C. Ho Theatre in the Chinese Cultural Centre of Toronto, is proud to announce its upcoming 2009/10 season. The orchestra will perform a seven concert season under the baton of Norman Reintamm.
